KOAS Seminaarinmäki is a block of two wooden buildings of student housing located between the Jyväskylä University campuses and the city centre. KOAS Seminaarinmäki relates to the wooden houses of the prestigious Seminaarinmäki area and occupies a prime spot when approaching the city from the west.
The buildings are comprised of prefabricated apartment units with construction of cross laminated timber (CLT). The two buildings contain 94 studio apartments and 9 apartments with a separate bedroom. Apartment units are assembled in Kuhmo, Finland and delivered to the site.
The wooden surface left visible in the ceilings of the apartments, together with ash parquet and full height windows provide the apartments with cosy warm atmosphere.
