Malmi Mortuary and Farewell Spaces receives the Kestävä Kivitalo Award

Malmi Mortuary and Farewell Spaces has received the Kestävä Kivitalo Award, a Finnish recognition for high-quality, durable and sustainable masonry and concrete architecture.

Located adjacent to Malmi Cemetery in Helsinki, the project was designed as a calm and dignified environment for remembrance and farewell. The architecture combines carefully composed spaces, natural light and enduring materials to create a setting that supports reflection and commemoration.

The award acknowledges the project’s architectural quality, long-term sustainability and commitment to creating lasting public value. It also recognises the project’s contribution to the built environment through thoughtful design, durable construction and carefully considered material selections.

We are honoured by this recognition and would like to thank the client, design team and all project partners whose expertise and collaboration made the project possible.
