Description:
Wood City is a showcase of Finnish wood construction – a world class urban quarter representing the latest in environmentally friendly construction technology. The quarter consists of an office building, a hotel and two residential buildings located in Jätkäsaari, new seaside developement in Helsinki.
Curving forms of the wooden quarters represent environmental values of wood construction, creating a positive and recognizable aura. Façade of the office building is a combination of wood and glass. Unique wooden overhang by the hotel entrance is light and airy promoting new, innovative wood construction. The residential buildings are located on the western side of the quarters creating a private, green courtyard in the middle.
